More about our children

Good News India cares for nearly 3,000 orphaned and/or destitute children in 30 Dream Centers. (children’s homes)

Most of our work is deep inside rural India where His light shines dim and His Word is scarcely heard. And the people live in dreadful poverty. Many of our kids have a single parent who has to eke out a living as a day laborer, working all day in the fields for about 50 cents per day. Sometimes both parents have to work like this in order to barely feed themselves. More often than not, the children “wander around” until the guardian comes home. One grandmother who works long hours in the fields, tied her little orphaned granddaughter to the bed leg so the little one would not come to harm while she was away working. When we found out about this, we offered to take little Gouri into our home and she is now flourishing. Her grandmother is grateful to see this little one going to school and getting plenty to eat.

The GNI difference?

Most other child care ministries provide one meal and only 4 hours of contact with the child (day care program). Nights/holidays/weekends, the child is back in paganism. Second, the child is released after tenth grade. GOOD NEWS INDIA operates a 24/7/365 residential program with a far greater influence upon the children. We are also committed to seeing our children through College or Vocational School Training.  GNI is aggressively engaged in rescuing children from human trafficking, bonded and sexual slavery.

Your sponsorship is their opportunity for a better life and a chance to hear the good news of Jesus!
